If you're looking for the best tile trends- we've got you covered! We've rounded up the best tile trends this year that are flying off the showroom shelves and into our customer's homes.
Penny Round Tiles
This versatile and classic style has been making a steady comeback the past few years. Penny Round Tiles have been around for at least a century and it was common to see them used in bathrooms or kitchens in the early 1900's. Unfortunately, back then they were limited in color offerings, textures, and finishes. Today's version is vibrant and unique; with offerings, in just about any look you could hope for: Matte, Glossy, Stone Look, Multi-Color and more. There will be no problem finding one that fits your space perfectly. And, if you are looking to achieve a more contemporary look, but still love the look of the penny round tiles, try experimenting with contrasting or matching grout.
Hexagon Tiles
In the early 20thcentury, hexagon tiles gained popularity in kitchens and were often accompanied by our friend the subway tile. Today's version offers clean and sharp lines with classic colors of whites, grays, and blacks and suits a minimalist décor style effortlessly. We've seen a large wave of hexagons being used as kitchen backsplashes and the look does not disappoint – another use to consider is using them on walls as a feature and if you opt for the larger size hexagon tiles you are sure making a dramatic impact in your overall design. Hexagon tiles are timeless but also a great tile trend!
Patterned Tile
Last year patterned tile made our top trends list and this tile trend is still going strong! Patterned Tile brings life to any space with its dimension and character and each year the options become more intriguing. Their historical origins are up for debate – Mexico, Spain, France, Brazil, Turkey, and Nicaragua all claim their influence but one thing we are certain is that this trend is making quite the resurgence in the US. And while it's not a "new" trend we can't ignore the fact that they are timeless and can be effortlessly reinvented in your kitchen, bathroom, hallways or even living rooms. With titles available in a variety of art deco styles, micro-florals, and even geometric designs, you can't help but be inspired.
Metal-Look Tile
The once industrial look of metal is making its way into the heart of many homes these days with Metallic or Metal looking tile. Over the past few years, we have been seeing a rise in popularity in this look and we are here to say that metallic tones aren't going anywhere. They are perfect for more modern and contemporary designs as a flooring option but if you want a fun conversation starter in your home, consider a backsplash in the kitchen or bathroom or create a feature wall in your bedroom or dining area.
Brick Look Tile
Another repeat from last year that made it to the tile trends list is Brick Look Tiles. A brick wall is a long-time favorite in the home décor world and brick look tile is the perfect modern twist on a classic design element. The look is not only stylish and timeless but is also affordable. So, whether you want to create an "exposed" brick wall, a rustic backsplash or even want to take it to the floor to emulate a real sense of country living – Brick Look Tiles are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and textures, so finding one to fit your design perfectly won't be difficult.
Dimensional Tile
A three-dimensional tile will create a wow factor in any space it is used in. This trending tile style includes wavy ridges, beveled subway, and even herringbone tiles and comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes and styles. When these different elements are combined you have an extremely versatile tile that will create one-of-a-kind spaces from design styles that are bold and modern to even subtle and classic.
Reclaimed / Distressed Wood Look Tile
Last year we mentioned that while we wouldn't call wood look tile a "new" trend it was gaining momentum and that still holds true. As the technology advances, tile manufacturers are producing tile with a level of detail that matches not only wood but also distressed or reclaimed wood giving homeowners endless possibilities for achieving the coveted wood look in their home. With a variety of plank sizes, colors and finishes, wood look tile allow you to have a timeless design without the hassle of maintenance.
